Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Information

According to OSHA, Minnesota operates its own worker safety and health program under a plan approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. This program provides safety and health protections to most private sector workers, as well as state and local government employees within Minnesota.

Minnesota State Plan

Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) generally adopts Federal OSHA standards by reference. With the exception of a few regulations, the federal OSHA standards for General Industry (29 CFR Part 1910) and Construction (29 CFR Part 1926) have been adopted by Minnesota OSHA. Minnesota OSHA also has state-specific standards which address hazards not covered by federal OSHA standards. See Minnesota Rules, Chapters 5205, 5206, 5207, 5210, and 5215.
