Who Needs MSHA Part 46 Annual Refresher Training?
MSHA regulations state that miners, supervisors, construction workers and contractors who previously completed MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training are required to complete Annual Refresher Training.
These employees must complete the course within one year of finishing New Miner Training or their previous refresher course.

Workers at coal mines and underground mining operations must complete a separate training program outlined in MSHA Part 48.

Once you pass the final exam, you can instantly download your Certificate of Training (MSHA Form 5000-23). MSHA requires Part 46 miners to retake the course within one year of the course completion date listed on their Certificate of Training.
